2015 North American International Auto Show Day 1 Wrap-up

We had a pretty good first day at the 2015 North American International Auto Show Press Days at Cobo Hall in Detroit, Michigan. We got off to a rocky start because of bad weather causing some massive traffic jams which made us miss the Chevrolet and Nissan press conferences. Finding a parking garage that wasn't only for VIP's or monthly passes was tough too.

We did make it in time time to catch the Alfa Romeo press conference, and a delicious cup of Italian coffee! There Alfa unveiled the 4C coupe (again), and the new 4C Spider. More notably was the very rare Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale which is probably worth about as much as most of the cars in the show combined

After the Alfa Romeo press conference we were herded down to the Joe Louis arena for the Ford unveilings. Although there was A LOT to look forward too we had less than ideal seats as the arena was filling in early. Hey, we couldn't part from those cool Alfa's though!

We did get a better shot of the GT350R later though...

...and the GT too!
After the trek from the Joe Louis arena back to Cobo hall we went on a brief walkabout to scope out the manufacturer's exhibits for return visits. Eventually we made it with a front row seat to the BMW 6-Series unveilings. Our front row seats turned out to be at a bad angle but we got a couple quick shots of the new sedan, coupe, and convertible...

After the BMW unveiling we hightailed it over to Acura for what will probably wind up being the keystone release of this auto show, the unveiling of the production version of the Acura NSX sportscar. And it was worth the wait. This car is absolutely stunning...

We were going to get some more pictures but the press swarmed this car to an extent that we have just never seen before...

Can you find the NSX in this picture?
Even after a couple hours it was still packed. Needless to say we're going to try again tomorrow and get some better photos so that we can do a more detailed photo-article of this car. Trust us we want to see every little curvy bit of this car as much as you do.

After the NSX we sort of drifted around catching a bunch of good photos of cars that were supposed to be unveiled later but were just left open for everyone to see in advance (you know who you are, thanks for ruining it!). Here's a small assortment of some of the more interesting cars or better photo's we were able to conjure up for this wrap-up.

Chevrolet unveiled the new Volt
Nissan unveiled a new Titan which has a Cummins turbo-diesel
Chevrolet Colorado ZR2
Bentley has a purple GT Speed Convertible
Honda has a FCV (Fuel Cell Vehicle) Concept
You could use your cell phone in the Ford area to get a present delivered to you via a drone
Nissan's Q60 Concept is a really hot looking coupe
The Volvo S60 Cross-Country Sedan is really cool (if you're into that sort of thing...and we are)

Fingerprints that you can't see in person show up really well in post-processing

If you made it this far we've got a present for you. Here's a 1080p GoPro video of the NSX!!

We'll be on walkabout most of the day at the auto show so if there's a particular photo or info you want send us a message!
