McLaren 650S GT3: Just the facts

McLaren just confirmed details of the successor to the 12C GT3 race car; the 650S GT3. Good news for owners of the 12C GT3 too! McLaren will offer an upgrade package to bring the 12C up to the 650S GT3's level of performance. If you want to buy a 650S GT3 brand new, expect to pay over $500,000 with about 15 models to be produced for the 2015 GT racing season.






Here's all the technical specifications released from McLaren.

Chassis/Body:

  • McLaren carbon fibre MonoCell with aluminum front and rear sub frames
  • Bespoke lightweight carbon fibre/composite body panels
  • Left hand drive
  • FIA approved safety roll cage
  • Air-jacking system

Aerodynamics

  • Front splitter and dive planes
  • Rear wing - fully adjustable with gurney

Engine/Management

  • Race prepared 3.8L V8 twin turbo McLaren M838T
  • McLaren Electronics ECU incorporating turbo boost and transmission shift control
